About Us
Roots & Wings, Beverton Preschool and Roots & Wings Kindergarten all fall under the umbrella of Muintir Childcare. Each service follows a child-lead, emergent interest based approach that reflects the pedagogical practices of Reggio Emilia throughout both the indoor and outdoor environments.
Nickola and her team aim to ensure that all three services exemplify the highest standards of education and care. Evidence based practice has shaped the environment, the curriculum and the pedagogical approach at Muintir Childcare. Our team are consistenty looking for new ways to adapt our practice and upskill to keep up with new and emerging ideas in the sector.
Nickola's Journey
The core of Roots and Wings Early Years Education and Care is our passionate Owner/Director, Nickola Cullen. Nickola inspires our teams practice each day by sharing knowledge and continuing to reflect on our practice, environments and learning opportunities, keeping children at the centre of all we do.

Nickola began her journey by opening her very first service, Beverton Preschool back in 2002. Since then, two more services have joined the Muintir Childcare family. Roots and Wings, Beresford which was opened in 2017 was the first to carry forward the legacy and practices of Beverton preschool with Roots & Wings Kindergarten opening in 2021.
With over 20 years experience in the Early Years sector, Nickola aims to inspire children, team members and families alike by remaining up to date on new practices and approaches to care, all while ensuring the child remains at the centre of all we do.
